Give a Day RVA
HandsOn Greater Richmond is hosting its regional day of service, Give a Day RVA, September 23. The Richmond community has an opportunity to choose a project at one of 55 non-profit and commnunity sites across the region, including the John Marshall House. You can make a difference at the Great Chief Justice's home by helping us spruce up the property with new quoits pits (John Marshall's favorite game) and a fresh paint job for the benches and fences located in the garden.
The project is drop in, which means that volunteers can stop by the John Marshall House at any time during the 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. window to volunteer for no more than 30 minutes. Signing up on the HandsOn RVA website is not necessary to volunteer with the John Marshall House.
Volunteers will be working outside, so please be sure to bring water, sunscreen and bug spray. Also, wear clothing that you can get paint and dirt on. Parking is free on the street or in two nearby paid parking decks. This project will be cancelled in advance in the event of rain. Volunteers will be notified by Wednesday, September 20 if the project is cancelled.
