Freedom Constellations is a one of kind interactive public art project that imagines a world where all youth have what they need to thrive and stay free. Seen from miles away, the project includes 160-foot tall portraits of Richmond youth leaders on the sides of City Hall (the largest interactive installation on a municipal building in the country) that become animated as viewers hold their phones up to the portraits. These interactive tours and experiences are free to the public and can be best viewed from the grounds of the John Marshall House, a Preservation Virginia historic site.

In addition, three immersive stations are offered at special tour times in which visitors experience one-of-a-kind reality animation that was co-designed by Richmond youth. Visitors can engage with historic artifacts at the John Marshall House and travel to the top of City Hall’s observation deck with a guide from The Valentine. Also join Performing Statistics educators and explore the city’s ever-changing landscape while imagining Richmond’s future.

Limited public tours meet at the John Marshall House and are available by pre-registration for the following dates:

· 10 a.m. February 20th

· 10 a.m. March 5th

· 10 a.m. March 19th

To register, or if your group would like to book a tour for a different time or day, please email mdowney@preservationvirginia.org.
