Join us for a webinar to explore the effectiveness of Most Endangered Historic Places programs in preserving endangered historic sites, and a brief look at one of the listings on Preservation Virginia’s 2021 Most Endangered Historic Places list- Civil War Battlefields in which United States Colored Troops (USCT) Fought.
The webinar will feature Kendra Parzen, Field Officer for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, discussing the National Trust’s America’s 11 Most Endangered Historic Places; Sonja Ingram, Preservation Field Services Manager at Preservation Virginia, discussing Preservation Virginia’s Most Endangered Historic Places List.
The webinar will also feature La’Veesha Allen Robbins discussing the importance of protecting St. Mary’s/Samaria Church Battlefield in Charles City County, and Mary Koik and Dan Davis from the American Battlefield Trust discussing the New Market Heights Battlefield in Henrico County, and the importance of protecting other battlefields in which USCT participated and fought.
