Preservation Academy Summer Series Webinar 1: State Historic Preservation Grants and Fundraising through Private Foundations for Sites Important to the History of African American, Indigenous, and People of Color

Do you have questions about applying for state grants or to private foundations for the preservation of ​​historic sites important to Black, Indigenous, and People of Color? Join Preservation Virginia, the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, and other experts to learn more on obtaining funding for your project.

Panelists include Catherine Boe, Manager of Advancement Initiatives, Virginia Museum of History & Culture, who will provide an overview, objectives, and submission requirements for the Commonwealth History Fund; and Blake McDonald, Architectural Survey and Cost Share Program Manager of the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, who will provide information, objectives, and submission requirements for the newly created Virginia Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Historic Preservation Fund.

The webinar will also feature Will Glasco, Preservation Virginia’s Development Director, who will discuss the fundamentals of applying to private foundations. Dr. Lisa Winn Bryan, Preservation Virginia’s new Community Outreach Manager, will moderate the webinar and the question and answer session.
