Members from the Clotho’s Handspinners guild, an educational non-profit organization located in Richmond, Virginia, whose mission is to educate and support those who spin fiber into yarn, will be on site demonstrating the craft of treadle and drop spinning, one of the earliest forms of spinning. Learn from these experts as they discuss the many steps needed to prepare the wool for spinning, then try your hand at carding and using a drop spindle like those we sell in our gift shop. You may just become a fiber enthusiast yourself!
Grounds only self-guided cell tours and fiber program is $5 per person or $10 per car/family. If you wish to take the guided house tour, the tour and fiber program are both included at $8 for students, $9 for Senior/AAA/Military, and $10 General Admission. Preservation VA members are free.
