Homeschoolers are invited to Smith’s Fort for a dedicated opportunity to explore the site on Wednesday, May 24th from 10am-2pm. Historic interpreters will provided guided tours of the 1763 manor house and students will be able to engage histories and themes of revolution, plantation life and slavery, and more! We will also be offering hands-on activities, crafts, scavenger hunts, and more. This event is on-going and homeschool families are invited to arrive at anytime.
Admission to Homeschool Day is $10/student over age 5; $8/adult; children 5 and under are free. Advanced registration is required via the link below and admission can be paid by cash or card upon arrival.
While you’re at Smith’s Fort, make time to pop over to Bacon’s Castle a short distance away, which is also offering Homeschool Day programming on May 24th from 10am-2pm. You can also attend other fall Homeschool Days offered at Preservation Virginia’s other historic sites:
