Dec 12, 2021
12:00 pm — 4:00 pm
Join Richmond’s downtown museums for a holiday open house on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 12pm-5pm. Each of the historic sites/museums will offer a variety of holiday history tours, refreshments, crafts, activities, and more! Go to each location and collect an historic holiday recipe card to take home. Most participating sites are offering free admission and activities!
Participating downtown sites include: The John Marshall House, The Valentine Museum, St. John’s Church, The White House of the Confederacy & the American Civil War Museum–Historic Tredegar, the Virginia Executive Mansion, and Historic Monumental Church. Shuttles will be provided to transport guests to both St. John’s Church and the American Civil War Museum–Historic Tredegar. Contact The Valentine Museum for shuttle schedules and locations.
During Winter Wander, the John Marshall House will offer Christmas in Early America Open House Tours, make-and-take holiday crafts, hot beverages and snacks, and holiday group photos (we’ll provide the decorated, historic backdrop; you bring your matching winter sweaters, camera, and your crew!) The John Marshall House is FREE during Winter Wander, but donations and holiday shopping in our gift store are appreciated! No advance tickets are necessary.
Winter Wander is an indoor and outdoor event. Face masks are required for all guests inside over the age of 2, regardless of vaccination status.
The John Marshall House will not be offering regular guided tours during Winter Wander. For questions or concerns, please contact mdowney@preservationvirginia.org, or call (804) 648-7998.
