With the Revolutionary War in full swing, Cornwallis had established a strong hold in Yorktown. General Washington called on General Rochambeau for assistance. The French Navy, under Admiral Comte De Grasse formed a blockade at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay to prohibit the British Navy from assisting Cornwallis. The Battle of the Capes was one of the most decisive naval battles of the war, learn about its importance during this virtual program.
