Urban Slavery Walking Tour

Join the John Marshall House on an Urban Slavery Walking tour. Visit six proximal locations in downtown Richmond that define, illustrate, and place urban slavery into the city’s Early Republic landscape.
The Urban Slavery Walking Tour runs up to 90 minutes, starting and ending at the John Marshall House (818 E. Marshall Street, Richmond, VA). There may be opportunities to sit at each location, but be prepared to be on your feet for the duration. We recommend guests bring good walking shoes, bottled water, and sun protection if needed. Unless too inclement, this tour is rain or shine, so be prepared for the weather. There will be access to bathrooms at the beginning or end of the tour, but not during.

General Admission $20; $15 for Preservation Virginia Members; free for children 6 and under. Tickets are non-refundable, but are transferable to other available dates. Advanced tour registration required.
