Official Contest Rules
What:
Preservation Virginia is seeking extraordinary photographs from amateur and professional photographers that showcase historic preservation successes in Virginia, in the following categories:
Preservation Virginia’s Historic Properties (Past and Present)
In our 125 years as Virginia’s resource for historic preservation, we have helped to save hundreds of properties, some of which we still manage and are open to the public. Others are in the care of dedicated preservation stewards, whether privately-owned or managed by non-profit organizations. Capture a unique and inspiring view of a Preservation Virginia “legacy” property and submit it with a description of why this place is inspiring to you.
Local Historic Sites and Properties Currently Being Preserved
Is there a local preservation success story in your region? Are you involved with preserving a local historical or cultural site? If so, please send a picture (with or without you and other preservationists) and your preservation success story. We would love to highlight not only your beautiful photograph, but your story as well!
Local Historic Site In Need of Preservation
Do you know of a site in need of preservation? Would you like to help raise awareness in order to save this place? If so, take a picture, and send us some info on your unique piece of Virginia history. Who knows, maybe it could be considered for next year’s Most Endangered Sites list!
