Bus Tour FAQ’s
Scheduling, Pricing, and Policies
- Pricing
- $20 per person
- Additional add on of boxed lunches available at Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown, prices vary.
- Scheduling
- Reservations must be made at least one month ahead of your desired date and may be made by contacting Geneva Weidhaas at gweidhaas@preservationvirginia.org
- Reservations must be placed with a 50% deposit of the cost of admission.
- Remaining price of admission may be paid at the time of the program and acceptable forms of payment include organizational check, credit card, or cash.
- Policies
- Deposits are refundable if a bus tour is canceled no later than 2 weeks prior to the visit. Deposits are non-refundable for cancellations beyond that point, or no-shows day-of.
Group Size and Logistics
- Maximum capacity for a bus tour is 50-55 individuals
- Accessibility:
- The John Marshall House is located 3 steps up from street level, and the house requires visitors to climb five steps to enter. The house tour covers three levels of the home via stairs, but visitors are welcome to wait on the primary floor if they cannot traverse stairs.
- The tour for Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown is on one floor, but requires visitors to climb 6 steps to the front door. In Fall 2025, Scotchtown will have a ramp installed, making the tour and site fully wheelchair accessible.
